Alberta Veterinary Dentistry hosts small-group continuing education courses on a regular basis.
We provide a variety of courses applicable to veterinarians, veterinary students, registered veterinary technologists, and other veterinary trainees which include a breadth of topics and skills across the spectrum of veterinary dentistry and anesthesiology.
We ensure each participant is welcomed into a safe learning environment and receives the attention they require to grow their confidence.
RECOVER Rescuer Certification (BLS & ALS) Workshop (REGISTRATION CLOSED)
8.5 + 6.5 hours of ABVMA CPD Credits
Led by Dr. Jessica Pang, BSc(Hons), DVM, MVetSc and Nicole Paleck, RVT
When: Sunday, September 27th, 2026 (8:30am- 4:30pm)
Where: Alberta Veterinary Dentistry (358 58 Ave SW #107, Calgary, AB T2H 2M5)
Who: DVMs, RVTs, and students (DVM or RVT)
Cost: $550+tax
Training Structure: 8.5 h (RACE approved CE) online component for Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support modules (to be completed 1 week in advance to participate in the workshop portion). The in-clinic workshop (6.5 h ABVMA approved CE) provides multiple CPR scenarios where the theory learned in the online portion is coupled with the participants veterinary knowledge to role play the situations in real time with the instructor and patient simulators. An assessment is performed at the end of the BLS and ALS portions of the workshop to obtain RECOVER Rescuer certification. The workshop is not only designed for certification, but also to build confidence for participants and their teams in managing cardiopulmonary arrest in practice. Dental Extractions
4 hours of ABVMA CPD Credits
Led by Dr. Brittney Rigby BSc, DVM, DAVDC; Dr. Jordan Steedman BSc, DVM, (Dentistry Resident) and Rebecca Tierney, RVT
When: Saturday, November 7, 2026 (2 sessions – morning and afternoon)

Who: DVM only
Cost: $750+tax
Training Structure: In a small group setting, we will discuss the steps to perform surgical tooth extractions and provide tips and tricks that will improve your efficiency and reduce patient morbidities during dental surgeries. The wet-lab will consist of supervised and personalized cadaveric practice of dental extractions on cats and dogs. Snacks provided.

The Dental Dozen: Bite-Sized Learning at Rapid Speed
